This site was developed by Jim Sohn in memory of his wife Marian who was a member of the Irvine-Welles Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Formal recognization of this site has not been requested. This site is therefore not formally recognized as an official DAR site by the National Society of the DAR or by the Nelly Custis Chapter. The Nelly Custis Chapter was organized as the Irvine-Welles Chapter on February 22, 1928. In 1994 the Chapter was renamed the Nelly Custis Chapter in honor of Eleanor (Nelly) Parke Custis, Martha Washington’s granddaughter through her first husband. |
